Cardiff Blues Centre, Tom Shanklin, took a blow to his knee during the win over Ulster last Friday.

The injury is not to the knee which kept him out after the 2005 Lions tour and it is not thought that the injury is serious and not a re-accruing injury. However, Shanklin will be out of action for up to 6 to 8 weeks which means he will out for the rest of the season. As a precaution the knee will be cleaned out.

Gareth Cooper will be seeing a specialist this week to be what needs to be done to treat a persistent groin injury while Sam Norton Knight has an injury to a disc in his back.

The following players were also not available for selection due to injury:

Bradley Davies – (head injury)
Robin Sowden Taylor – (Achilles)
Gary Powell – (Ruptured Achilles)
Sam Hobbs – (head injury)
