The Magners League season came to a thrilling climax on Saturday night and a number of you proved your rugby knowledge once more by successfully predicting the outcome.
We asked you who you thought would come out on top in the Dublin encounter between Leinster and the Ospreys and by how many points.
Some 22.7 per cent of you told us that the Welsh region would run out winners by between one and seven points and that’s exactly what happened.
Ryan Jones and co claimed a 17-12 victory at the RDS as they secured a third Magners League crown in seven seasons thanks to tries from Tommy Bowe and Lee Byrne and seven points from Dan Biggar’s right boot.
Just under 70 per cent of you backed the wrong horse entirely, however, predicting that home advantage and an impressive record in recent match ups between the two sides would see Leinster triumph in the season finale.
A third of our voters felt that the Irish side would be victorious by the slimmest of margins, while almost as many backed a winning margin of between eight and 14 points.
Far fewer of you believed there would be a big gap between the teams, with just 5.3 percent in favour of a Leinster win by 15 points or more and 3.8 per cent predicting the same margin of success for the Ospreys.
Here’s how you voted:
Leinster by 1-7 points – 33.3%
Leinster by 8-14 points – 31.6%
Leinster by 15 points or more – 5.3%
Ospreys by 1-7 points – 22.7%
Ospreys by 8-14 points – 3.8%
Ospreys by 15 points or more – 3.2%
