Cardiff Blues centre Casey Laulala has been ruled out of Friday’s Magners League clash with Benetton Treviso.
The 28-year-old former All Black was stretchered off the pitch after a clash with Newport Gwent Dragons centre Rhodri Gomer-Davies in the Blues’ 43-21 victory on Saturday.
Laulala was knocked-out in the challenge and received almost 10 minutes of treatment on the pitch before being carried off in a neck brace.
The elusive centre was soon up on his feet and has been given the all-clear but he will not be considered for Friday's Italian Job as a precaution pending further tests at the end of the week.
"Casey Laulala will miss Friday's match against Benetton Treviso as a precaution,” read a statement on the Cardiff Blues website.
"The Kiwi winger suffered a head injury in Saturday's win over the Dragons.
"Laulala was up and about within 10 minutes of being taken off but will have further tests on the injury later on this week."
Laulala has been a big-hit since joining the Blues and was instrumental in their late surge towards a play-off place last season.
After arriving in the Welsh capital in November, Laulala became a regular fixture in Dai Young's side, making nine appearances and scoring two tries.
