Three players make Canada squad

Glasgow Warriors duo Kevin Tkachuk and DTH van der Merwe and the Dragons full-back Matt Evans have been included in Canada’s squad for their four match tour of Europe this autumn.

34-year-old Tkachuk is just appearance away from a landmark 50 for his nation whilst van der Merwe will look to carry his early season form in the Magners League onto the International stage.

The South African born winger has scored three tries in five matches for the Warriors so far this season.

Former Hartpury college student Evans will be looking for game time for his nation, having been restricted to just one appearance for the Welsh region.

Chauncey O’Toole, who was on a short-term deal with the Warriors at the start of the season, has also been included in the squad.

The Canucks begin their European tour against Belgium on November 6 before fixtures against Spain, Georgia and Portugal.
