Ireland medical staff are monitoring the fitness of Leinster prop Cian Healy who picked up a dead leg in the last quarter of his side’s victory over Samoa.

The 23-year-old will be treated for the injury this week and an announcement will be made closer to the weekend as to his availability for the visit of New Zealand on Saturday.

British & Irish Lions full-back Rob Kearney will return to training this week after recovering well from the deep bruising he suffered in his knee in Ireland’s defeat to South Africa.

Ireland are set to announce their line-up to face the All Blacks on Thursday but have released Keith Earls to play for Munster against Australia on Tuesday.

Earls will return to the Ireland squad the following day.
