Scarlets second row Lou Reed has been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a knee injury in his side’s win over Aironi at the weekend.

The 23-year-old has played in all nine of the Scarlets fixtures so far this season but will be out of action until the New Year.

The Welsh region closed the gap between themselves and Magners League leaders Munster following their 34 v 17 victory on Italian soil on Saturday.

The Scarlets host last season’s beaten Grand Finalists Leinster in Llanelli this weekend and will be boosted by the return of back-row duo Rob McCusker and Josh Turnbball.
