Horacio San Martin has joined Aironi. The Argentinian player, born in Formosa ,February 15th 1982, arrives to enrich the centres after the departure of players, Dylan Des Fountain and Roberto Quartaroli due to season ending injuries.

In November 2009, San Martin collected two caps with Pumas (debuting at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff against Wales) and was then selected in May for Argentina’s summer test-matches. He also played for Jaguars and for Argentina Seven.

During last season San Martin played for Tala Rugby Club in Cordoba and now he joins Aironi to measure himself against European high-level rugby and try to gain a place with Pumas for next year’s World Cup in New Zealand.

San Martin says: “I’m pretty excited to start this new adventure and I want to thank Aironi for this great opportunity. My target will be to reward this confidence and demonstrate to be able to play at this level, with an eye to World Cup. I know some of the Argentinan players in the Aironi roster so it will not be a problem to settle in the team and in Italy”.
