Newport Gwent Dragons have been forced to switch their European match against London Wasps on Sunday to the home of local Magners League rivals Cardiff Blues.

Cardiff City Stadium will host Sunday’s encounter after the Rodney Parade pitch was deemed unfit for use this weekend.

Representatives of the Dragons and WRU official Dai Davies inspected the Rodney Parade pitch on Thursday (9 December) and decided that due to the current adverse weather conditions it would not be in a safe enough condition for the game to go ahead there on Sunday, 12 December.

The European encounter will now be played in Cardiff, the venue for this season’s Amlin Challenge Cup final and the 1.00pm kick-off time and the broadcast coverage all remain the same.

Bad weather forced the Dragons to move their Heineken Cup Pool game against Biarritz Olympique from Rodney Parade to Parc y Scarlets last season.
