The Leinster squad trained in UCD on Wednesday morning as they stepped up their preparations ahead of Saturday’s Magners League clash against Connacht in the RDS (KO: 5.30pm).
Kevin McLaughlin trained with the panel as he continues his rehabilitation from the knee injury sustained in May and the Leinster management are hopeful that he will be involved for this weekend’s game. The Ireland back-row forward will undergo further fitness tests this week and a decision on his availability will be made at Friday’s lunchtime team announcement.
Eoin O’Malley (rib), Nathan Hines and Richardt Strauss, who were rested on Monday evening, are in contention for selection.
Isa Nacewa’s 15 point haul in the 30-13 victory over Ulster on St. Stephen’s Day pushed him into third place in the Magners League top points scorers list for this season with 105, while Shane Horgan scored his fifth try in the last six games in all competitions.
In excess of 15,600 tickets have now been sold for Saturday’s game and are available online from www.leinsterrugby.ie, Spar (Donnybrook), the Leinster Rugby Store (Donnybrook) and Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
