Glasgow Warriors scrum-half Chris Cusiter is desperate to pull on the club’s jersey and make his come-back from injury before the end of the season.
The Scotland and British & Irish Lions half-back is still recovering from a long-term knee injury which has ruled him out of the 2010/11 season so far and he has spoken of his desire to make a come-back in one of Glasgow’s four remaining league games.
“I’m doing well, working hard but it has been a number of months and a lot longer than I would ever hoped for when it originally happened,” he said.
“It feels like the longest pre-season I have done with no games at the end of it.
“I would love to play before the end of the year and I’m working hard towards that.
“I am working hard in the gym and on my rehabilitation, its tough sometimes but ultimately I just want to play as soon as possible and that keeps me going.
“After a while it does start to drag on. I am a professional rugby player and I want to be playing rugby. And obviously I miss the games and miss the highs and lows of the season
“My daily routine is coming in the morning, having a rehab session first, building the muscles in my leg and I do that for 45minutes in the morning and then it’s an upper body session. As the months have progressed I have started to work harder on my lower body and then moved onto more fitness.”
