Edinburgh’s ‘Flying Dutchman’ Tim Visser is the proud new owner of the Magners League record scoring record for a season.

The 23-year-old wing touched down for the 13th time in Edinburgh’s 32-15 home bonus point victory over Aironi to move ahead of former Cardiff Blues centre Jamie Robinson and Dragons full back Kevin Morgan.

Robinson’s dozen came in the 2003/04 season, while Morgan followed suit a year later. Visser’s ‘lucky’ 13th came with two games left to play and took his Magners League tally to 23 in 36 appearances.

Last season’s top scorer with 10, Visser is three ahead of Dragons wing Aled Brew this term and knows he will have to keep on scoring to head off the Welshman, who has scored five tries in his last four league outings.

A Magners League Dream Team pick last year, Visser is one of the leading candidates to make it into the 2011 side after another great season.
