Fresh from winning the European Cup in Cardiff, Leinster’s Brian O’Driscoll has immediately turned his attention to this weekend’s Magners League Grand Final and completing a historic double.
The Irish province fought back from a 22 v 6 half-time deficit against Northampton at the Millennium Stadium to claim their second European title in three seasons and O’Driscoll believes Leinster will travel south on Saturday in confident mood.
“The aim now is to drive this team on and create something very special for the future,” he said.
“We now have an opportunity to go to Thomond Park and attempt to go after the double.
“An Irish side hasn’t achieved it before so it will be something very special if we could do it.
“It’s a big match for us and we want to make up for what happened there four or five weeks ago.
“We are very much looking forward to that. It's going to be a very hard tussle down there as always, but it is always nice travelling having been crowned European champions the week before.”
