Glasgow centre Graeme Morrison believes Scottish clubs’ form in the Heineken Cup and the RaboDirect PRO12 is reason for optimism ahead of the Six Nations.

The 29-year-old has helped the Warriors into fourth in the RaboDirect PRO12 and while Glasgow missed out on the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup but Scotland will be represented with Edinburgh advancing.

Indeed, ahead of the Six Nations opener between Scotland and England at Murrayfield, both countries have qualified the same amount of domestic teams for the Heineken Cup knock-out stages.

And as a result, Morrison is in confident mood.

"Certainly, Edinburgh winning their group in the Heineken Cup was great to watch and I'm sure those guys are on top of the world at the moment,” he said.

"Although Glasgow didn't qualify we finished second in our group which was a fairly positive thing and we're looking forward to continuing to try and improve on our league position.

"There’s a good feeling, we've not been together as a squad since the World Cup but we all went back and did a lot of hard work at our pro teams and had a good run of games, especially with Glasgow and Edinburgh doing well going into this.”
