As commentator for Irish radio station RTE, Michael Corcoran is normally the one asking the questions.

On Thursday the tables were turned as the RaboDirect PRO12 allowed fans to grill Corcoran via Facebook on Twitter on subjects ranging from commentary to the next big Irish star to his impersonation of the Cookie Monster.

Where’s your favourite ground to report at?

My favourite ground in the RaboDirectPRO12 is Stadio Comunale Monigo, the home of Treviso.

What are your predictions for the Heineken Cup?

There’s way too much rugby to be played yet before the Quarter-Finals. The pressure is on Munster to perform, Ulster are on a crest of a wave and Leinster to progress.

Was Ross O’Carroll-Kelly the best player never to play for Leinster & Ireland?

Ross O’Carroll-Kelly was very unfortunate not to make it at the highest level. He could even have played for the British & Irish Lions.

What have been the most significant changes made by the Irish clubs in the RaboDirect PRO12?

The Irish provinces have put a huge effort into marketing their games, made them price and family friendly also .

Which rugby player has the best banter on Twitter?

The best banter from an Irish player would be Jamie Heaslip. He’s well worth following.

What have been the highlights of the RaboDirect PRO12 so far?

I like to see referees ref with a sense of humour, as well as authority, and Nigel Owens’ performance in the Munster v Treviso fit that bill nicely.

Who is your favourite all-time commentator?

Bill McClaren was an outstanding commentator, the best I've ever heard and I had the pleasure of meeting him once.

What has been your best commentator memory to date?

There have been a few highlights; Ireland winning the Grand Slam would be one of my favourites.

Who do you think will back Jonny Sexton up when Ronan O’Gara retires?

After Jonny Sexton and Ronan O’Gara, I think Ian Madigan is next in line from what I have seen this season.

How are you dealing with your new found fame as a YouTube megastar?

A YouTube megastar? Not me surely? You will have to ask Cookie Monster and Kermit that!

If you could bring any foreign player to Ireland to play for any province who?

Romain Millo-Chluski – Connacht; Thierry Dusautoir – Ulster; Kurtley Beale – Leinster; Ma Nonu – Munster.

In the RBS 6 Nations, 3 home wins and 1 away, which away win do you feel is the one Ireland can achieve?

England at Twickenham.

Do you think Munster need to buy 1 or 2 players or do you think the academy is doing well for them?

The Munster academy has produced some quality players, more experienced players will always help develop that even more.

Who are the most exciting young players in the RaboDirect PRO12?

Simon Zebo. He has the potential to play at a higher level, he is still learning so let’s see how he develops.

Have you ever gotten distracted and missed something vital?

I try not to get distracted during matches. It happens at times, but I don’t think I have missed many vital things.

Have you ever been lost for words?

Lost for words? Sometimes the brain and mouth do not connext correct and that can lead to a car crash in my head.

What tips would you give anyone who wants to be a commentator?

If you want to be a commentator, develop your own style, go to games, buy a Dictaphone and practice and listen to yourself back.
