With more than 15,000 tickets already snapped up, Ospreys fans are being warned that they face missing out on the big Christmas derby match against the Scarlets if they don’t move swiftly.

With a month to go until the big match, Ospreys bosses today revealed that East Stand has already sold out as the game looks set to become only the fifth ever capacity crowd at the Liberty Stadium with just over 5,000 still available for Ospreys fans to purchase.

Ospreys Chief Operations Officer, Andrew Hore, said:

“With only around 5,000 tickets remaining available it is clear that we are heading towards another Liberty Stadium capacity crowd, which is excellent news. The Ticket Office staff have been dealing with a constant stream of supporters picking up their tickets for this game and if sales continue as they have been we will be looking at putting up the sold out signs several weeks ahead of the game.

“A local derby is a traditional part of the festive period, and my strong advice would be that anyone planning on attending the game with their family and friends should act to get their tickets as soon as possible. It is clear that no-one will be able to just turn up on the day and buy a ticket, so the message to all fans is don’t hang around or you’re going to be disappointed.”

The Ospreys have enjoyed an unbeaten run in the festive sell-out games against the Scarles at the Liberty Stadium. In 2006 they romped to a 50-24 win, before a much closer affair in 2008, the hosts securing a 20-6 victory. Two years ago though it was a different story as the Ospreys ran in seven tries on their way to a record win over their local rivals, the game ending 60-17.

Tickets for the match are currently available to buy at the Liberty Stadium Ticket Office, online at or via the Ticket Hotline on 0844 8156665, priced from £20 (adults), with child prices starting at £5.

Tickets are also on sale for another PRO12 Welsh derby against the Blues this Friday, with ticket holders for the Wales V Australia clash the following day able to claim discounted tickets to support their region, as well as the big Heineken Cup clash with Toulouse at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday December 15th.
