New Blues partnership expected to grow rugby across region

Cardiff Blues chief executive Richard Holland is expecting new principal partner Land Rover to help develop rugby throughout the region.

Land Rover was unveiled as the club’s Principal Partner at a junior festival of rugby inside the grounds of Cardiff Castle, run by coaches and players from Cardiff Blues.

The event which was run by Blues coaches and players, taking a break from their Guinness PRO12 preparations, and saw representatives from 75 grassroots rugby clubs take part.

“Everyone at Cardiff Blues is incredibly excited by the new partnership with Land Rover and what the next three years has in store,” said chief executive Richard Holland.

“Land Rover has a renowned history in supporting rugby and its experience will be important in the continued development of the club and rugby in the region.”

The three-year deal is the first time Land Rover has directly supported the game in Wales and is testament to its commitment to investing in rugby in the UK.

The partnership is the latest addition to the company’s long standing support of rugby at all levels of the game; from grassroots to the elite.

Land Rover’s was an official sponsor of the 2011 Rugby World Cup and a worldwide partner of the tournament in England last year and has supported six British & Irish Lions tours.
