Scotstoun is a place that has witnessed Niua's hulking presence before - and the American promises to make an impact on a more permanent basis for Glasgow in the RaboDirect PRO12.
"It's nice to be back at Scotstoun," said Niua. "As soon as I got here it looked familiar as I've been here twice before with the USA sevens team, but now hopefully I can stay here for a while and I'm looking forward to the challenge.
"When I put a jersey on I give it everything that I have. I've been playing rugby since I was a kid and when I've got the jersey on me it's like it's part of me so I'll bring everything I've got and see what I can bring to the team.
"I'm really excited about this move. I know there are a lot of players out there who would like to be in my shoes right now. I just can't wait to start playing for the club.
"It's good to finally be in Glasgow. As soon as I got the news that I was joining the club I was looking forward to it, so now that I'm here I'm getting closer to playing for the club."
