Scarlets captain Rob McCusker has this week stated that he's keen to ensure the players and coaches moving on from the region at the end of the season are given a good send-off.
As the Scarlets prepare for the final outing of the 2013-14 season, against Cardiff Blues at the Parc, on Saturday 10th May kick-off 6.30pm, McCusker admits that it has been an average season for the West Wales region but still with plenty to play for.
The region will say a fond farewell to two career Scarlets in Josh Turnbull and Jonathan Davies on Saturday evening after the game, as well as players including Aled Thomas and coaches and backroom staff Danny Wilson and Brad Harrington and McCusker would like to see his fellow teammates leave the region on a high.
A win at the Parc on Saturday would see the Scarlets secure their seventh home victory on the bounce and would go a long way to ensuring a positive feeling amongst players and supporters alike, he said: "Nothing's a done deal and we're keen to leave a decent taste in people's mouths, it's a long old summer when you're on the back of a loss. We're keen to leave people in a positive frame of mind at the end of the season - we want people to come back next season.
"It's also important to give the boys a nice send-off and make sure they keep fond memories in their minds."
Despite securing their place in next season's European competition with a victory over Newport Gwent Dragons last Friday evening McCusker believes the side has some unfinished business before the season is out, he went on to say: "We're really disappointed with our form in the derbies, having not won one until last weekend, it's not like us and not where we want to be. Saturday is a chance for us to put that right and salvage a win.
"Blues are on a good run at the moment, they've been freshened up by things, had a good win on weekend in a tough place. They'll be full of it and expecting a double.
"We know we've had an indifferent season; we all except higher and expect more."
Scarlets take on Cardiff Blues at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday 10th May, kick-off 6.30pm.
