Hamish Watson has made six GUINNESS PRO12 starts for Edinburgh this season
Having come through his first full 80 minutes since October unscathed, Hamish Watson hopes 2014/15 can still prove to be his breakthrough season at Edinburgh Rugby.
The 23-year-old back-row made just three appearances from the bench last term, but was named in the startling line-up for five of Edinburgh's first six GUINNESS PRO12 matches this season until suffering a broken jaw during European action against Lyon.
Surgery and lengthy rehabilitation followed, but Watson was back to help Edinburgh beat Connacht last weekend and hopes this weekend's trip to Lyon will be not so much a chance for redemption, but an opportunity to launch a consistent run in the team.
"Sometimes you have to wait for an opportunity and when it comes along take it," Watson told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"No one wants to get injured but in your career you are going to get one or two bad injuries. Hopefully I can now get a run.
"That's rugby, you do get horrible injuries and I have a few screws and a plate in my face to prove it.
"Fortunately there is plenty of the season left."
