Ulster edge out Glasgow Warriors

The Irish international claimed all his sides points thanks to a converted try and six penalties to condemn their Scottish rivals, who notched tries through Graeme Morrison and Craig Henderson, to defeat.

His personal tally also saw him take the honour of the  top scorer in the Celtic League, starting the day on 497 points and ending on 522 points after passing Gavin Henson’s previous top total of 503.

The match-winner came deep into injury time and moments after Dan parks looked to have given his side the edge with his third penalty of the game.

Ulster stole the advantage with three successful penalties from the boot of Humphreys but the visitors struck back when Morrison touched down under the posts before Parks added the extras.

They soon had the lead when lock forward Craig Hamilton grabbed his side’s second five-pointer by exploiting some space down the left wing. Once again his flyhalf converted.   They extended their lead with a further penalty from Park but Humphreys kept Ulster in touch with another penalty of his own in first half injury time to see the sides enter the break at 17-12.

Humphreys produced a superb 70m solo-try after the break and converted to once again give the home side the lead.

Parks and Humphreys then exchanged further penalties before the dramatic finale that eventually saw Ulster take the poils.
